Popular Agile Techniques Employed

People continue to realize the benefits of adapting Agile in their companies. As stated in 14th Annual State of Agile report, there are five popular agile techniques employed as follows:

1. Daily Stand-up

Become the most used agile practices, daily stand-up allows the team shares information and opportunity to discuss and solve problems.

2. Agile Retrospective

Commonly used by the teams, agile retrospective is a practice that could reflect the way of working aims to improve continuously on what the teams do.

3. Sprint/Iteration Planning

In sprint/iteration planning, agile teams jointly associate the level of difficulty with certain tasks, the teams could delete or add additional stories/tasks and tasks distributed among teams based on a voluntary basis.

4. Sprint/Iteration Review

The purpose of sprint/Iteration review is to measure the work progress of the team. Each team member can share their accomplishment, work plan, or problems they have encountered that might restrain them from accomplishing their goals. Next, the teams evaluate their work result and discuss improvements during their next iteration.

5. Short Iteration

Short iteration presents the team accomplishment and delivers a “demo” version of their work to the customer. Short iteration allows the customer to provide useful feedback as well as allows the development team to adjust accordingly.

Implement Agile Development Using Scrum

When companies decide to use Scrum, they should comprehend that Scrum roles differ from other traditional project execution roles. Scrum roles have proven effective to increase all utilization stated previously as well as complex work.

Scrum itself has three main roles namely Product Owner, Scrum Team, and Scrum Master. Product Owner is a person who represents the business and responsible to work with the scrum team. Scrum Team consists of professionals who work and deliver potential releasable Increment. Scrum Master is a servant-leader for the Scrum Team and responsible for managing information exchange process.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are five most popular methods of agile employed by companies aim to continually improve the teams and their work. In addition, before deciding to embrace Scrum, companies should understand the three main roles of Scrum to achieve goals.
